House Manager – Full-Time for L.B. (ladies group home)

Caring Matters will be hiring a Full-Time House Manager at the L.B. group home. A flexible schedule is required.

JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: House Manager (1 home); Residential Manager (2 homes)
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Oversee operations and care for each residential home assigned. This position is on-call around the clock for their assigned homes unless they are on approved PTO.
CARE
- Ensure clear understanding of:
- Special Needs;
- Formal training objective;
- Behavior Support Plan
- Highly Restrictive Procedures;
- Dietary Recommendations;
- Evacuation Plans & Fire Drills; and
- Medical needs, recommendations, and RN-delegated tasks
- Provide formal training to ALL employees who walk in to the home.
- Immediately relay any new and critical medical needs, i.e. changes to medication, NPO orders, etc. to direct support staff on duty.
- Provide hands-on training to direct support staff on all systems listed above, to include special needs, formal training, and BSPs, as well as any other formal plan put in place by each resident’s Service Planning Team.
- Always implement and promote active treatment and positive communication with residents.
- With as much involvement from the residents as possible, manager will develop and create a monthly calendar of activities (both in-home and community involvement) that will take place. Calendar will be completed 25th of each month with events/activities for the upcoming month.
- Secure shopping list and purchase groceries for the home in accordance with the healthy options menus.
- Ensure residents are trained on evacuation in preparation for scheduled fire drills monthly.
- Responsible for safekeeping of all residents’ personal belongings & property by taking inventory monthly.
- Ensuring that the residents’ whereabouts are always known.
- Always provide a safe and healthy environment for individuals.
- Provide and promote superior cleanliness of the home.
SYSTEMS & DOCUMENTATION
- Ensure proper reporting procedures are carried out for all incidents of behavior or medical related, to include medication errors. Utilizing reporting protocol as follows:
- Behavior Related Incidents: Report immediately to Case Manager on call, then nursing if behavior results in injury or illness. Residential Director to be called for incident reporting purposes.
- Medically Related Incidents (to include medication errors): Report immediately to Nurse on-call, then case manager on-call and Residential Director for Incident Reporting purposes.
- Implement and monitor water temperature testing at the beginning of each shift to ensure temperature does not exceed 118 degrees Fahrenheit and that exact temperatures are logged on Water Temperature Log daily. Contact Maintenance and Residential Director, should hot water exceed 118 degrees.
- Responsible for ensuring accurate completion of all required documentation to include:
- Time Station – ensuring that all employees clock in and out as scheduled;
- Service Delivery Logs on TaskMaster Pro (TMP);
- Residential Census on TMP;
- Training Data Sheets on TMP;
- Behavior Data Sheets;
- Medication Administration Record (MAR) on TMP;
- Incident Reports on TMP;
- Monthly Fire Drill on TMP;
- Body checks or other logs (i.e., toileting, water intake, blood pressure, etc.);
- Allowance Logs/Receipts;
- Water Temperature Logs;
- Submit copies of monthly activity calendar are submitted to Case Coordinator for reporting and to the Business Office for funding.
- Maintain an inventory of personal items for each resident
- Maintain and monitor a cleaning checklist daily, per shift to include periodic deep cleaning to maintain superior cleanliness of home(s).
- Ensure fire drills are performed each month and form is completed correctly.
- Guarantee all shifts are covered for PTO or staff call-ins and secure all appropriate documents for absence requests and PTO requests as outlined in Employee Handbook.
- Review all documentation while on shift to ensure for accuracy prior to submission each month.
- HM/RM is responsible for answering calls, emails and other prompt correspondence as required with all departments to include but not limited to: Case Management, Nursing, Business Office, ISS, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by Residential Director or other members of administration.
